Senior Counsel (Technology & Government Contracts), Premier Tech Company (Exclusive), Northern Virginia or Seattle
Our client, a premier technology company based in the Pacific Northwest, has exclusively retained us to find them a senior counsel to negotiate and manage many transactional business matters that have a significant federal government contracting overlay. This Senior Counsel will be a talented transactional attorney responsible for supporting business teams on some of the company’s newest technology initiatives as they interact with federal government contracting and procurement-related matters. This position will have primary responsibility on such business deals. This person may be also called upon to negotiate strategic, enterprise and technology licensing agreements, assist with product development initiatives, and deal with issues surrounding payments, all in relation to the overlay of federal regulations and compliance issues. This Senior Counsel will have primary transactional drafting and negotiation responsibilities on deals that range up to very high-dollar-value transactions, and provide ongoing legal counseling and contract interpretation for senior executives and other business team members on these matters.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in contracting with the federal government as well as familiarity in transactional and technology law. A stellar-credentialed transactional candidate willing to learn the government-contracting aspects of the position could also be a possible fit. Candidates must have a J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and be a member of at least one state bar. Base requirements for this position include a minimum of 6 years of relevant transactional and/or government-contracting legal experience (with at least 2 years at a respected law firm), though more experience is preferred. A strong background specifically in technology/content licensing and the ecommerce industry would be helpful, though this is not a strict requirement for otherwise qualified government-contracting candidates. There is significant growth and long-term legal management potential in this exciting role. This Senior Counsel may be based in either the company’s Northern Virginia (greater Washington D.C.) office or its Seattle headquarters.
Our client offers very competitive compensation on a scale commensurate with experience, and the compensation package will include significant equity-based compensation. The company is willing to relocate strong candidates (particularly those willing to relocate to Seattle). We have been working with this company for several years and have placed multiple candidates there, so we can provide you with useful assistance throughout the company’s extensive interview process. Please submit your resume to Brad Bruner, Esq. at The Partners Group for consideration, at westcoast-north@partners-group.com. Of course everything we talk about will be confidential, and we will not submit you for this or any other position without your prior approval.
