IN-HOUSE PATENT ATTORNEY (CONTRACTOR) - SEATTLE, WA
The Partners Group is seeking experienced patent attorneys to work in-house on a contract basis with our client, a premier international technology company in Seattle. In this position, you would assist the company’s senior IP attorneys on a variety of IP-related issues related to managing the company’s worldwide patent portfolio. Desirable candidates would have patent/IP-related experience in technology areas such as web services, digital media, wireless communications, e-commerce, and business methods patents.
The company will have a strong preference for candidates whose practice emphasis has focused on areas such as patent analysis, writing, prosecution & licensing as well as advising internal clients on patentability and related transactional areas. Though some IP litigation experience is acceptable, this is not a position for career IP litigators.
Ideal candidates for these contractor positions will have USPTO admission, scientific studies prior to law school, and at least 2 years of IP-focused law-firm experience. Candidates with more experience are welcome to apply, as the scope of duties will vary depending on different candidates’ relative experience levels. Prior in-house experience would be helpful, though this is not required. Current admission to at least one state bar is required.
These positions would likely be full-time in the company’s offices, though some concessions regarding hours could be made for otherwise strong candidates who might desire less than full-time employment. We offer a competitive hourly pay rate on a scale commensurate with experience. The position has the potential to be long term for candidates who do well in the role.
